Correlate Situations

In ITM 6.1 there is a feature to correlate different situations. You can do this by creating what is called a correlated situation.

When you create a situation there is a little check box that will indicate if a situation is a correlated across managed systems. If you select the correlation check box then instead of getting a list of attribute groups you will get a list of running situations. You then select one of the active situations and highlight the managed system that the situation is running on. In the formula just left-mouse-click the selected situation and it will automatically add a '==True'formula.

Then you can add additional situations from the same or different managed systems by using the 'Add conditions'button. Then you hae to distribute the new correlated situation to a TEMS. Last but not least you need to make sure you have associated the new correlated situation with a navigator item. You can do this by selecting the 'Set Situation filter criteria'button to the left of the 'Create new situation'button. Here are a few notes on correlated situations:

1) Correlated situations run on a TEMS.

2) Correlated situations can be run against one or more situations running on the same or different managed systems.

3) Correlated situations need to run on the TEMS where the agents connect.

4) Correlated situations can not be run against situations running on agents connecting to different TEMS (e,g, different RTEMS).

5) If an agent fails over to a different TEMS the correlation may not work anymore.
