ITM 6.1 Universal Agent Workshop

Gulf Breeze Software will be hosting a one day Universal Agent workshop in Raleigh, NC on Feb 24th. We will cover the following topics in our one day workshop on the Universal Agent:

  • Understanding a Metafile and why we need them.

  • Understanding the data types that we must define.

    Here is a list of the topics that will be covered in this workshop:

    HTTP Data Provider

  • Use the HTTP Data Provider to monitor URL's

  • Create Situations based on the Universal Agent Data

  • Configure Warehousing of HTTP Data


  • Script Data Provider

  • Integrate output from a custom script (eg PERL or Shell) using the Universal Agent

  • Agent command line interface

  • Create situations based on the script data and implement warehousing


  • SNMP Data Provider

  • We will perform local discovery of SNMP resources

  • Understand how to send traps to the Universal Agent


  • File Data Provider (Logfile Monitoring)

  • We will monitor the Apache logfiles and understand how to filter and scan logfiles for strings before we send data

  • Understand how we can perform pattern matching within situations when using File Data Provider data.
